Anyone here have any experience with Bag Master Mini range bags? Quality construction or not? Or is there better options? I was looking for something to hold 2 compact pistols, 4 mags and a couple boxes of ammo. The mini range bag looks perfect but a little pricey... By the way I want to keep the size to no more than 12" long.

If price is a consideration then look at Harbor Freight soft tool bags. They look good but not signaling "gun bag" and have pockets plus a rubberized bottom so you can set it down on wet grass or parking lot without concerns and they are lockable. Also, they are less expensive than any comparable bag I've looked at.

For the last 10 years or so I have been using fishing tackle bags. They were first designed to carry 6-8 plastic tackle boxes that carry side by side on their edges. These bags have a couple of zippered pouches on each end, a couple on the front, and in some cases a flat zippered compartment on the zippered top flap. I still carry at least one of the flat tackle boxes with dividers in the very bottom of the bag with assorted small tools, marker pens and such, and a couple of folded hand towels, then still plenty of room for two or three pistols in the main compartment. The front and end pockets will carry a good bit of ammo, a staple gun. a stack of "shoot-n-see" targets, boxes of ear plugs, etc. I keep one loaded up for pistols, one for shotgunning, and one for rifles. They obviously don't have that "tacticool look", but they darned sure are extremely efficient....and inexpensive. This time of year you can usually pick up some really good deals on these (under 20 bucks) at china-mart. I used to fish a lot (2-3 times per week...year around), so I always had a bunch of these around.

I like buying American when possible, I think I will go with Bagmaster. Maybe I'll just put it on my birthday list for my son to pick up later this month.

Got it from cactus tactical, but I just searched and it's not showing in their inventory anymore. Maybe their pricing was screwed up, because I got it for $29.99 plus 6.99 shipping.

Thought I'd post a few pictures of my Bagmaster Mini. When I was shopping, I couldn't find a decent picture. So here are a few...
This bags' really heavily constructed and very well padded. Zippers are nice and heavy duty. Carries two handguns in very padded pockets and holds 4 mags for each gun. What surprised me was the amount of room. That outside pocket will easily fit my Kahr CM9 plastic case. The center compartment (space) between the two pistol pockets is wide enough to carry 3 or 4 boxes of ammo (100 count). I usually put my tackle box in the front pocket with ear plugs, lube and various accessories. Very very well designed. +When zipped up and loaded this case is only 12" long by approx. 6" wide. The only cons are the lack of a shoulder strap. I got mine for a stupid low price, but for the typical price of $59 an shoulder strap would be nice. If you pay about $20 more for the Mini Deluxe, you get a shoulder strap and one more side pocket. Personally, the Mini is a better value.

Nice! Moat sites show one crappy picture of the outside of a bag and if we're lucky, we get to see the inside. They never show what I want to see. Thanks!
