If I had anyone that could b i t c h at me, LOL. I just sent my check in for another gun bought, and I was browsing slickguns and saw this:
http://kartalk.pccomps.com/686Deluxe.jpg

I got to quit looking at that slickguns site late at night, I saw this 686 Deluxe TALO edition for a real nice price and figured I'd better grab it while It was on sale. Been wanting a 686 for years and finally saw one in decent shape I could afford. It's holds 7 rounds of .357, has a 6" barrel, is a TALO edition for whatever that's worth. I think that just means it has nice wood grips. Saw em selling at prices all over the place, from over $200 more than what I paid, down to the price I paid, > $650. MSRP is $800.
Only thing is it's going to have that stupid lock. Pity they sold out to Clinton and his cronies back when and agreed to add the locks and stuff. Funny how I went from looking at an $80 Moison-Nagant, to an $650 pistol. Oh well, this one will be like money in the bank and I needed another gun to replace the one I'm going to give my ex-wife for home protection anyway. LOL, she'll probably want the BB gun. I'm going to try and get her to at least take a .22. Then I'll need to buy that S&W 617 to replace my .22 pistol. That will make a real nice trio of S&W revolvers.

Yeah. I saw that over on Slick Guns. Glad you were able to get it! :) Sure is pretty with the shiny stainless and those gorgeous grips!

Okay, Barth, for a rookie like me, tell me what exactly is "Talo" and what to look for in that Glock? Is it a refinishing? Accessories? Gunsmithing?

I couldn't find anything they did to that 686 but put a nice handle on it. They had some others in 3, 5 and 7 inch barrels. Do they do anything to accurize them? They aren't very descrptive on what they do on their web site. Of course if it's like my 629 Classic, it won't need accurization. Maybe a trigger job would be nice for double action shooting, but for SA, that trigger on the 629 is superb. About 2 or 3 lbs I'd guess. Sure doesn't take much to set it off SA. They also have their 686 Plus with rubber grips priced higher than this TALO edition by $50. So I'm not sure what's up with all that either.

Jfootin, I figured I'd better grab it while it was available and not be singing the blues like you with the CW45. You don't see a 686 at that price very often, at least not a 6 inch one. I was looking a few months ago and one that was a little beat up went for almost 600 on one of the auction sites,

I was just looking over at Davidson's Inc, and they say the MSRP is $975, while the S&W site has MSRP of $799. Lowest price I could find it from Davidsons was about $730, and that's with driving 150 miles round trip.
Makes me wonder about Davidson's integrity.

It doesn't know what Kahr is LOL!

www.failzero (http://www.%3Cb%3Efailzero%3C/b%3E).com

Basically;
Talo is a third party distributor that purchases blocks of new guns and
has special options applied. Then resells them as new special editions.

The Talo Glock EXOs are new gen 3 Glocks that have the slide and
barrel sent to Fail Zero for a proprietary nickel boron finish. This
finish is self lubricating for 15,000 rounds and was developed for military applications (machine-guns).
Then Ameriglo I-Dot Pro night sights are installed on some models (like mine).

That is all - LOL!
Oh BTW

I guess all they did the gun I ordered was put on a set of nice wood grips. Bawanna, you're not outsourcing to TALO are you? I would prefer the rubber grips if this was going to be a shooter, but I think it's going into a custom built display case with my 629. Both are works of art as well as fine handguns IMHO.

I wish I could say I whittle those myself but I'm not affiliated with Talo YET. I haven't checked my messages yet today though.

Congrats on the purchase. Beautiful firearm. Sigh.

Well I can always say that those are my knockaround grips, and that Bawanna is making me nicer set. Just kidding Bawanna, don't go thinking I'm gonna ask for a set of grips for that. If I do much shooting with them, may get a set of rubber grips for the range. I have a feeling that will be more comfortable to shoot with the full underlug than my Dan Wesson's are. But are they as accurate? if they are anything like my 629, they'll shoot a flea off a gnat's rear at 25 yards.
