I just ordered the IWB#3 for my newly acquired Dan Wesson CBOB.

Any experience with Desbiens in California. He gets high praise on other forums. Take a look

I just looked at the website after you mentioned it in the other thread. Impressive! I am interested in the #6 IWB for a new S&W Model 638 Airweight Bodyguard I just ordered from Bud's. I like the idea of appendix carry for that gun. I read the testimonials, and this guy is the real deal. Good find!

Know nothing about them (neither the holsters nor the ...bians) but judging from the photo it (the holster) appears to scream quality.

I sent Rhome an email with questions about the #6 holster and got a very quick and honest response. He talks about how he got the design from Lou Alessi shortly before his death, and tells me that it will take some getting used to wearing that holster in the appendix position (what with my middle age spread :o). I like this guy! :)

Here is his response:

Hi John,

Wow, where do I start? Well a little about the IWB #6 holster. I believe it is the perfect holster for your J-frame S&W. It was originally designed by another holster maker Lou Alessi who I like to think of as the King of Holster makers. He passed away about 3 years ago and about 2 years before his passing gave me permission to use his design which has since been a very prudent move on my part as this is truly a great holster. With my design you will be able to adjust the cant and ride height to suit you and your body size. Now I will admit that if you've never worn an AIWB holster before it will be uncomfortable at first until you get used to having something (the gun and holster) poking you in the front nether reigns. Honestly when I first started wearing the AIWB #4 with my full size Glock, it took me approx. 3 weeks before it felt comfortable enough to wear all day everyday. I have talked to some of my customers who have decided to make the big switch to AIWB carry and the comfort times vary from 1 week to the 3 weeks. I carry my Ruger LCR in the AIWB #6 with no problems at all but I will caution you that if you suffer from "dunlaps disease" where you belly done laps over your belt you may print because your stomach will push the grip of the gun forward making it look like you have a protrusion sticking out in front of you. Now it also will depend on your cover clothing, dressing for the gun should take care of that problem to a point and as you mentioned that you are getting smaller grips will help a great deal. I'm just trying to be honest with you as I'm not into this to make money as making holsters is more of a passion than anything else and I don't want to sell you something you won't be happy with. I believe the final decision is yours from what I've told you about the AIWB #6 and my experience carrying AIWB for a few years now. If I can be of anymore assistance please let me know.

Best regards,
Rhome

I ordered a #4 hardcore r/c for my H&K P30 a few months ago based on the reviews I've read from people I trust.

I have laughed at myself every time I see that thread title. My eyes and brain play tricks on my sometimes and I'll read something substituting the word I expect for the one actually there. I try not to but each time I read Rome L..bians instead of Rhome Desbiens. I am not making fun of the guy's name but of how my brain twists stuff around now and then.

It's scary knowing that what we see isn't really what we see. The physical eye retina connects to nerves that go to the brain and tell the brain what the it sees. It's like the "fly by wire" and newer "drive by wire" only been around longer.

Went to the website. Beautiful holsters. Just ordered a #4 Hardcore in horsehide for my PM9. I won't see it until the end of April but it gives me something to look forward to.
