Okay, well i have the ability to acquire a used 637-2 (i was told approximately 500 rounds through it) this is one of the newer models with the internal lock (which im not to keen on but figure it easy enough to remove), and has the crimson trace laser grip installed.
this gun is being sold as a complete package, with 200 rounds of blazer 38 target ammo and 20 rounds of critical defense ammo, in addition to desantis pocket holster... the gun comes with the original box too
price 500 flat

ive checked the gun out and its got solid lock up and feels tight

well I dont have a wheel gun yet and thought this is a hard to pass up deal but just wanted to see if anyone who has more experience on used revolvers could tell me their opinion on if this deal is a good price

id need to put down an initial payment tomorrow if so... so i'm doing my homework on the gun tonight, just thought id see what yall thought, if its a deal to good to pass up...

thanks

If this is the same gun, Bud's is selling it for $361.00 (http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/26309).

I was just looking and saw them priced around 350 new, but they were all sold out. Bud's has them in stock for around $370. Not sure what the CT laser would run, I think they are $30 off 'till Christmas. I imagine they are are more than $130 with the discount so that would put the pistol above the $500. Then you got the ammo and holster. If there was no paperwork involved I'd probably jump on it. I'd say it's a pretty fair price. I do like my laser, and it already has one. J-Frame lasers were $140 and up doing a google search.

It's a great carry piece, but they are a handfull to shoot. If it is for carry, I say pounce. It is an ok deal with ammo and laser. If you are just wanting a great wheel gun to shoot a lot at the range and maybe for winter carry, this (http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/21_39_72/products_id/26266)is what you need.

I see $500 with all the stuff included as a "negotiable" price. Closer to $475 would be hard to turn down. I carried a 637 as my daily "work gun" for a couple of years, but just never got the feel for the grip angle. I paid around $450 (in a multi-gun trade) for it NIB, then sold it to a buddy last fall for $375 with nothing but the gun and original box/papers/etc., and turned around and added another 50 bucks to that and bought a safe queen, never fired, 3 inch1996 model SP101 in .357 mag. No more airweights or humpbacked grips for me, but if the airweight is your choice I'd say negotiate a bit and go for it.

And, you are one of the few (like me) that even consider the DA/SA hammer model. My wheel guns are gonna have a visible, touchable hammer:)

Thank you all for the feedback.
I decided to hold off on the little smith package, spent the deposit money to feed one of my sigs instead
yall helped me realize it wasnt the greatest deal, so I decided it may be better to get an old colt cobra or something of the likes, instead
well optimistically speaking of course, i figure if i find one it will hold its value better.. so i could have one of the classics, and in the event i don't find it my preference i can always turn it without taking a loss..

Well, you know, S&W are producing classic examples of the all steel snubbies (Model 64?) in blue and nickle with the small wood grips, but they are going for a little under $600 at Bud's and higher elsewhere. I handled a NIB blue Model 37 Airweight at my LGS. Sweet! I like the way it feels with the small grips. Wanted $625 for it. But I can't afford that, so I purchased a Model 638 Bodyguard from Bud's for $361 shipped. I am going to get a trigger job done on it for about $40, and I am on the waiting list for some Bawanna made classic little checkered wood grips. I am probably going to keep it forever.
