Oh Lord. I'm sending up prayer for the fallen and their families.

Too bad the Brady Bunch will use this as more ammuntion for their campaign.

Very sad. Hopefully the police car had a functioning dashboard camera. I imagine that the college makes use of security cameras.

Prepare for the usual suspects (and their usual hysterics) to use this in whatever ideology they're pushing in the media.

"University officials have not confirmed that the second person found dead in a parking lot is the gunman, but said that a weapon was found near the body."

LEO's do not get paid enough to work under todays conditions IMHO. Pull a guy over for a busted tailight and you might not come home. Sad indeed.

Same is true for the countless hapless 7-11 clerks murdered each year, but they make much less money and don't get a special send off at the funeral. Not to denigrate LEOs, just a apt comparison of dangerous jobs. :(

That's why they say "there's no such thing as a routine traffic stop."

AMEN!!!! For LEO there is no such thing as a ROUTINE traffic stop. Officers are always in danger and at risk of being shot and killed when on duty. I was just telling DH that when I saw that on the news this afternoon and PISSED me off. Sorry, if I'm on my soapbox, but seeing the media coverage and the media making comments like that and with DH in the lifestyle we are going into it just irritates and and will probably change the way I see things now.

I just hate  this kind of thing. It's a totally unnecessary tragedy for those who are affected, and of course it "proves" how bad these guns are - so now it must be time to finally clamp down and get rid of them all.

Lots of snickering and superiority showing in the European press too, because this proves even more how stupid the Americans are with their madness over guns.

Well he may not be a brother from my beloved Corps, and I may not be a blue brother as yet, but rest well from a fellow brother in arms. It will be awhile, but I'll see you on the streets past those pearly gates.
