New member here- a Glock guy since the 80's. Just sold my new 26, and want a PM9 or CM9 to complement my 19 for pocket carry.
Can buy a new black PM9 for $563 or wait for a CM9 for less in a few weeks. Money doesn't matter, for once! What to do?

buy the PM9 that is one heh of a great price. I own a G19 also, best shooter in my stable, sad to say it is my home protection gun, never carry it. PM9 goes everywhere i go in my front pocket. Take a photo of ur G19, once u get that PM9, ur G19 willbe come a safe queen.
Basically though the CM9 is every bit as good as the pM9 is as far as quality and material which will all interchange with each other. I paid $575 for my black dlc PM9 5 years ago if that makes u feel any better...

+1.
Money no object? Then upgrade.
I stepped up to the Elite with NS version of the MK40.
And am glad I did.
Kahr's high end products don't just cost more.
You get more too.

Kahr MK9 :)
I have the PM9 and MK9, love the platform! I'd also choose the PM9 for the dovetail sights alone (CM9 are pinned).
Can't go wrong with either, but the PM9 you can get in all black if you want to.

The MK9 is a great gun. I love mine, but for me, it is too heavy for pocket carry.

I also own a g26 it's a great cc pistol but my first go to CC pistol is the PM9. Beings you said moiney is no object then I think you'd be foolish not to go with the PM9.IMO It has better sights and a better barrel and comes with two mags. If money was important than I'd say the CM9 might be your best choice. Either one is a good gun But I give the nod to the PM9. Especially if it has night sights.

It seems like it's always cheaper for me to go ahead and get a gun
fully loaded with options from the factory.
Opposed to upgrading piecemeal later.

I own a black PM9. I absolutely love it. The dovetail sites, black finish, and polygonal rifling were enough for me to upgrade! I paid $605 shipped plus FFL fee for LEO pricing. I'm jealous of the deal YOU have!
@Jocko, I recall a thread about muzzle velocities uncovering from Kahr that the CM9/PM9 barrels are NOT interchangeable. I think you were a part of that post?
+1 vote for Black PM9...hold the night sights and get a CT Laser!!

Been using a PM9 as my EDC for more than 7 years, shot perfect from the box and still does ... I put a box of 50 FMJs through it once a month or so, keep it loaded with Hornady Critical Defense for carry purposes ... it's a great gun, couldn't be happier ... if money no object, get the PM9 ...

The PM9 could quite possible be the perfect CC 9mm pistol. Glock guys seem to like it, XD guys seem to think that if XD was to make a small single stack 9mm it would be very much like the PM9. I could not agree more with there thinking. It does have that XD feel to it and looked like a little brother to my XD9sc. The trigger is long for safety but smooth as any DAO I've ever fired.
The black finish is tough and looks good. The sights, especially the night sites are IMO are not to bright as to flood out each other out in the dark, but at least for me are clear and sharp even with eyes that were asleep. The polygonal barrel cleans up easily and I think makes the pistol very accurate.
Yes I'm a big fan of the PM9 it's everything I wanted in a small CC 9mm pistol.

Popeye you hit all the right points. I'm a Glock guy who quickly sold his G26 sub-compact to "upgrade" to the PM9. I really wonder why Glock or SA don't make a concealable single stack 9.
jocko

glock can't even bring their 380 into this country for sale other than to leo people only. There is a point criteria to import guns and I would bet any single stack glock made in austria would not quality . If glock made a single stack 9 the size and weight of the PM9, they would IMO have to do something with that hairy ass trigger system compared to kahrs system, if u gonna call it a pocket gun

right, the G26 might be considered a sub compact by Glocks standards but by Kahrs standards it certainly is not a pocket gun..:hurt:

All kidding aside though the g26 is very nice plain jane looking pistol that is very reliable and a great shooter that has barrel like the barrel on the PM9.
However when it comes to CC it for a long period of time on the hip IWB it becomes a bit much for my liking. The PM9 has flatter sides and is much thinner and when your IWB CC every little bit helps towards all around do anything and everthing comfort. I hate having my movement blocked just because I carry a pistol. The draw backs are your not carrying the same amount of rounds as the g26. However playing the odds of ever having to use my pistol and needing more than 7 rounds is very unlikely in the area in which I live and play. Plus the last time I checked there was no law on the books that says I can't carry and extra mag if I choose to do so. The other major plus is the light weight of the PM9 makes it a perfect jacket or vest pocket pistol. Which comes in real handy when I'm riding the king.

Congrats! You'll love it!
I did a lot of research before buying my first pistol for many reasons. I started with a glock for their reliability, reputation and $425 OTD price and extra mag at the LGS for LEOs. But ultimately I learned how bulky they are for CC and ended up with the Kahr PM9094.
My Kahr PM9 is so perfect for CC, my next gun will be my home gun, or one I can OWB carry when I wear a coat or something in the winter. Probably the Glock 19. But even then I'll have my Kahr concealed IWB!

I keep eyeing these guns as they seem to be the perfect size, weight and caliber for pocket carry.
Other than my car circling to find it's final resting place,
the only real issue is my S&W 342 ti.
The 11.6 oz gun, 14.0 loaded with Speer Short Barrel 135 gr +P,
with slippery Eagle Secret Service grips already fills that role.
Glassy DAO trigger and XS Big Dot front sight make it a dream to shoot.
Chances are eventually I'll come across a used PM9 Black Rose
at the right price and lose it...

Barth, That is a beautiful gun for sure but if I owned it I'd probably never carry it for fear of sscratching it all up. That's one of the pluses with the all black PM9, you'd have to be pretty rough with it to put a mark on it. I carry mine everyday and it looks like I just bought it yesterday. I'm one of those who always want XD to make a single stack XD9. Well I just plain got tired of waiting so I went on a quest to find a small single stack 9 to replace my Bersa Thunder .380 (which is a nice little gun for a .380)IMO but it's a .380. I had done some research on the Kahr PM9 and liked what I saw. One day at the LGS(range) I mentioned that I wish XD would make a Single Stack 9. That's when the GS owner picked up a very slightly used PM9 that an old gentilemen bought the day before took it to the range out in the back and found that the recoil was a bit to much for his liking. Now I'm not usually that lucky to find such a gem for the price I got it for. Fast foward the PM9 put the Bersa and the XD9sc of the shelf, and eventually gone. Bersa ended in a trade with a friend for a Marlin 30/30 and the XD a trade in for a CZ75B.
My G26 I got from a friend to be used to be a saddle bag/truck pistol.
I like the G26 but don't love it like the PM9 or the rest of my pistols it's just a tool.

Mine doesn't seem so tough. I've had mine since mid october and my kydex seems to be wearing on it too much. Maybe I should PM you some pics to see if they compare; maybe I'm just being anal.
Nice pick on the Marlin 30/30. I have one too. Did you get the plain or checkered stock? I have a 40mm Bushnell on mine :)

I don''t carry any of my pistols in Kydex for that very reason. It's bound to wear through the finish if you carry it on a regular basis. I carry mine in a Desantis Gun hide pocket or or hip holster. There really isn't a mark on the pistol from any sort of wear.
My Marlin 30/30 is and interesting store. The guy who wanted my Bersa Thunder .380 bought the 30/30 about 25 years ago from a friend of his and kept it in the box under his bed for those 25 years, and he says he only shot it one time as he already had another one in SS that he liked better. When he showed me the box and the condition it was in with dust all over it and beat up corners I thought no way am I making this trade. Then he opened the box and inside all wrapped up was this 90 to 95% perfect 30/30 Marlin. I was shocked beyond belief at it's condition. The rifle has the smooth stock and was made in 1981. It is very obvious that the rifle has been shot very little as the action has no scratches on it. It is drilled and tapped for a scope and it did come with the rings for one but at this present time I like shooting it with it's iron sights. I'm sure I have put three times as many if not more rounds through it than the previous owners combined. It does not have a safety on it like the newer models but does have the hallf **** feature to it. I always liked the 30/30 lever action rifle but kind of got side tracked with my pistols and Garand. Then this deal came up and it seemed like the perfect chance to own one, even if it was and older model. I love my Garand it's like owning a piece of American Pie,but to be honest that 30/30 at 100+yds will outshoot it for accuracy everyday of the week. It really is a fine old rifle that I consider myself quite lucky to have picked up.

That's why I'm about to get a Silent Thunder holster now that I'm adding a CT laser to mine!
WOW what a story! Not as good as mine. However, it was my first gun and so It's my baby. My dad bought it for me when I was 9 for my first deer season in 1999. Missouri made the youth hunts legal that year. Man I love that rifle. I guess mine's blued because it's not SS. It has a checkered stock with the safety and half c*ock. (haha you can't say c*ock) on the forum! :p I had the rings that allowed the use of a scope AND iron sites, and REALLY loved that. I would use the iron sights for close up shots, and that's how I shot my biggest buck, within 50 yards. But when I got the bigger 40mm scope, It wouldn't fit on those mounts. :(
