Put another 100 rounds through my CM9 with zero failures today. That makes 500 since the initial break in period without a single failure. I now feel confident in using my CM9 for EDC. Happiness is a warm gun and one that you can count on.

Isn't it now time to replace the recoil rod springs and start over? :)

Speaking of which, I just replaced mine - need to go put 50 rounds down range to verify function.

For what it's worth, when you replace it - keep the old one for a 'range spring' once the new one is tested for a 'carry spring'.

Replacing recoil springs do not require another break-in. However 500rds is only about 1/3 the normal time.

Now is about the round count when the gun is really starting to purr. I would leave those springs alone and just shoot it like u stole it. The gun will let u know when it is time to make spring changes.

Sometimes when u instjall new springs in kahrs, they slide will not lock open with normal range fodder until the sprigns get some rounds throgh them and kinda take their designed set.

I kind a proved that to myself just awhile back, after instaling a new outter recoil spring, I was starting to get a few failure to lock open, gun went bang jevery time, never a failure there. I thought "WTF". So I shot 25 corbon power ball 3 rounds to a magazine and got a mag lock every time. Now after about a 100 range fodder rounds the gun is back to normal and doing what it should be doing.

No, they don't require another break-in but for a carry gun I'd personally recommend a 50 round function check for cheap piece of mind.

That's great! I have a CM9 on order. (my 1st Kahr) But since I live in NJ (where the Govt. knows whats best for you), I have to wait for my permit to purchase a pistol background check to be completed. It might be another 2 months:( I've got other good things to shoot in the meantime.....

If it ain't broke I don't fix it. Kahr was nice enough to send me a spare recoil spring assembly, because of the problems that I experienced early on.

I'm working on catching up to your round count. :) I'm shooting it like I stole it.

You can correct what's wrong with NJ in the voting booth. Vote republican early and often. :)
