So, I jumped up early this morning and took off for Gainesville arriving about 15 minutes after the doors opened. Along with me were my Colt New Agent .45 and Glock 30SF to be sold or traded. On the first round of the show, I bought four 12 hour light sticks for $1 each, 1 lb of Unique for $18, and 1000 Federal small pistol primers for $28. Then I had some custom molded ear plugs made for $50. I'm tired of foam plugs and muffs and thought I'd give these a try. They are rated for 30 decibels and are washable.

Next, I sat with a few old men and tried to sell the Colt, ate some Rice Krispy treats and drank a Coke. Stayed seated for about 1.5 hours.

Made another round and tried to trade for a Gen 2 Glock 17. The dealer didn't want to give me enough for the Colt, so I passed.

Sat down again and talked to the other sellers. Then, about 4:15, a dealer comes over and tells me that he has a 9mm Colt New Agent if I was interested in trading. Hmmm! It was a newer model than mine and I had really wanted a 9mm when I bought the .45. So, I traded and went home.

I think that was a rather productive day even though I didn't sell anything. :)

The gun show post was 999. Then I posted something else and deleted it because I wanted to my 1000th post to be more meaningful. Now, my 1000th post is to Dietrich.

Just curious, Melissa, why are you selling the Colt NA? Most people seem to like them. I don't care for the trench sight, but was going to buy a Defender. It just happened that the day I went into the GS, they didn't have a Defender in stock, so I got the Kimber UC II instead.

Happy 1k Member Melissa. You obviously know what you want and go after it. A good traight I'm thinking.
I thought you'd hit 1000 long ago, I guess I better start paying better attention.

Congrats on the gun trade Melissa. Curious as to why you didn't want the .45. Apparently it was just a caliber thing?

Don't mean to hijack this thread but O'Dell, how do you like the Kimber UCII?

The standard mag [they only give you one] wouldn't complete the cycle and go into battery on the first round from a full mag. Load 5 or 6 and everything was good. I sidelined the Kimber mag an bought some decent ones and everything was fine. I'm still a bit ticked at Kimber for supplying a substandard mag [wouldn't work in my STI or SIG either] with such an expensive pistol.

I really wanted a 9mm New Agent when the .45 New Agent fell into my lap.

I've been to that show and other than the best jerky, only found tired old low level shooters/farm guns.

I've found more "good stuff" at the shows in Jax.
