I have a Kahr P380 and like many others, it has had its fair share of problems- all random and unrelated. This last problem I cant seem to find any info on.

1st problem out of the box was a click and grittiness in the trigger from the trigger bar sticking.

2nd problem on a range visit was it sending shell casings into my forhead regardless of grip or hold.

3rd problem was the slide prematurely locking back randomly on a loaded mag.

On top of those I experienced random FTFs and FTEs.

Problems 2 & 3 were fixed when I PAID to send it back to Kahr (new slide stop, spring, & extractor). The trigger was still as smooth as a gravel pit though, although I accepted it.

Now... onto problem #4- fourth mag in on the range and the trigger stopped re-setting. I quickly found that the bottom of the trigger was dragging on the inside of the trigger guard and I had to yank it forward. This has never been a problem... so what happened? Something must have shifted or something. Looking online I see there are some bad frames now?

I think even if they were nice enough to replace the frame without giving me any grief I can no longer trust this pistol with my life. This and the DB380 are the only 2 pocket pistols that interest me and they both apparently suck. Guess I am SOL for anything considerably smaller than my PM40.

I have a P3AT with lousy ergonomics and a trigger that only a mother could love. I can carry it concealed in my tee shirt pocket. It digests everything that I put through it from hardball to hollow points. I can keep them all in the black from 21 feet even with its non-existent sights. It goes bang every time I pull the trigger. It ain't fancy, but it gets the job done for about 1/3 the price of the Kahr. It's the back up for my CM9.

Took the gun apart, no broken pin or parts. The trigger is solid and doesn't wobble or have any play. Since the gun has sat overnight the trigger now still rubs, but swings past to full extension. You can see the area where the plastic is rubbed away. I do conveniently have a video of when it happened for the first time as well as a picture of it stuck backward.

As far as other .380s, does the Keltec claim to run Buffalo Bore and other hot ammo? One reason I loved the P380 was because of the sites and slide lock. I range ALL of my pistols, especially the ones I carry. So having a site-less gun with the excuse, "its not a range gun," doesn't work for me. The DB380 is great minus no slide lock and although the new serial #s look like they are functioning well, I don't want another headache. The Sig P238 is not enough smaller or lighter than my PM40 to be worth carrying over it. The MPA 380 looks sweet, but limited reviews and apparently if you dry fire without the mag in the trigger bar and spring fall out. Funky mag release as well.

I may just trade in the P380 when I get it back toward a target 1911 or something and stick to the PM40 for EDC untill something unique comes to the market. I'll miss having a true pocket pistol but I am not going to take a gamble.

It is going back. Already have an RA number and paid shipping label. What it comes down to is, do I want to continue going through the ringer with this pistol or just dump it when I get it back? What is the general concensus on the frame replacment? Does it fix the issues?
