Reassembling my PM45 is a bit fiddly as far as getting the slide stop pad under the spring.
Went to my watch repair kit revealed the perfect cheater:

Just reach in from the top and pull the spring up while pressing the slide stop in.

Yep, a must have for the Kahr's, I love the Kahr's but the only complaints are the horrendous striker removal for cleaning. It is no fun. I am surprised that in all these years Kahr does not have a simple device that will pull down and clamp the heavy spring. I also have the tool above and it is a big help.Quote:

On my CM9's I use the technaclip not only for Carry but for the easy racking of the slide. Big help. Comes with a backplate. I use the universal clip for other guns like the Pico.

Need to build the Ripley Retractor. It's just a bent paperclip but solves your issue. I think it's mentioned in proper breakin for a Kahr, I'll look for it.

Glad to see I'm not the only one thinking outside of the box.
After pinching my finger holding the slide at the alignment notch, I dug through through my Torx/Hex key box and found one to hold the slide perfectly aligned.
Adapt and overcome!
I keep a Ripley Retractor in the Gallon Ziplock i use to hold any firearm I'm doing any work on involving springs. Easy to hold any tool you need in the bag while you're doing the work. If a spring goes sproing you won't be looking in the light sconces for it either.
The Ripley Retractor is a. must-have. I don't have any difficulty with installing the slide stop without a tool, but I've been working with various Kahrs for over two decades.
My brothers and I used to joke about making a larger ziplock bag with access ports for both hands (like you see in Sci Fi movies) so you had more room to work; and the plastic would be optically clear so you could see well; and of course, it would have a gun-company's logo on the bottom corner of it. We should have made a prototype 30 years ago when it was an idea -- and it's still "just an idea" today.Quote:
