Been watching too many Westerns. I always have had the itch for a lever gun. "Yellowstone" put me over the top. Yesterday, a customer put me out of my misery. A Uberti 1873 carbine replica in 357/38sp. Probably the most useless gun in my small collection.
Feeds my handloads and is a hoot to shoot. Sore arm now from working the action but a smile still on my face.

Why useless? It always worked for the fella's on Yellowstone. As armorer at my old dept, I used to tell the guys if it was up to me, they'd have Winchester 94's in the squad cars rather than AR's. They were like glad it's not up to you.
I should amend my comment to say I do not need this gun. I could have gotten by with the sound of a lever racking ringtone. Darn thing is fun to keep in my lap waiting for a Zombie to pass by.Quote:

I bought a recorder for Android and made one right after I saw your post. Seven cycles of my Rossi .45 LC.
Tisas .45, gray alloy frame. This one is called the Stingray. They have a steel framed variant that's called the Manta Ray. Tisas seems to be in flux right now, I think because they now have a presence in the US, and are no longer relying on SDS Imports as their sole distributor. So the new tisasusa website is still a little short of info. This model debuted last August, only in 9mm. It wasn't until right after Shot Show that they brought this .45 version to market. Because their website isn't up to snuff yet I thought I was getting a steel framed gun, which is what I wanted, but this will do.
I replaced the ambi safety with a WC single side, and the mag release button with a WC extended. It does come with standard thickness G10 grips but they had a large thumb scoops which I don't favor. I had also picked up a checkered bobtail MSH to put on it but it turned out to be for a Sig Fastback Carry and it wouldn't fit. So I'll have to find one that does. I'll be adding some of the clear skateboard tape to the front strap also. I like the mostly bare slide and the cocking serrations that they put on it. Came with 2 8rd mags.
Nice dao. Looks like S&W’s fish scale serrations. I too am not a thumb scoop fan, so nice move on the grip change imho. You are fast becoming the resident Tisas expert around here. I want one once I get back into buying mode. Most likely going to copy you on your lil officer, because it just looks plain sweet!
Thanks Bird. I just ordered an Ed Brown snakeskin MSH, and it looks like a perfect match to the serrations on the slide. Hopefully it will fit. It will be interesting to see how this one runs at the range. If it's as good as the others I'll having nothing to complain about. They're very reasonably priced.
Oh, and the flash on my camera made the gray frame appear much lighter than it is. It's actually a very dark gray, which is good because I'm not overly fond of reverse two-tones either. :)
