Knowing the fine checkering work that you do, I have confidence that you will do a great job stippling that thunder pistol! :cheer2:

Exactly my thoughts. I've thought of rounding off the graters rather than just grinding them off. I'm definitely waiting for the movie before I break out the branding iron. Hmmm, wonder how it would work on my cat or Beagle?
Probably a number to call for that. 1-800-Abuseline..................
Two carefully placed strips of hockey tape covers the cheeze graters perfectly and can hardly be noticed, blending nicely with the color of the grip. A 2 minute job.
updated my new CM9 with a CT and pierce extended basepads cut down for maximum concealability

Well boys and girls I built up my courage and did an evnash. Not quite sure it's up to his level but it's good enough that I threw away my innertube.
Of note, before I actually tried the stippling I took a tip similar to the one he was using and just drug it along the lines of the cheese grater and just kind of melted off the points. This act alone did away with the need for the innertube and looked good too. I of course couldn't leave well enough alone so I stippled my mag bases which gave me a no doubt false sense of confidence. Then went after the sides of the grip which went really well. Then of course I had to take the front and back strap. I'm not done with those last two but it feels darn nice, don't seem to bite, I'll know more after I shoot of course.
Evidence photos.
Just like grammar school I went outside the lines a couple times but it will be easy when I really have my mind right (good luck with that) and focus I can make it right. A little more work on the front and backstrap. Trying to stipple over the cheese grater is a little more challenging. I think I'll flatten it out more and then stipple again. That's the beauty of this tupperware melting, if your not happy just keep melting until it pleases you or its all melted and you have to order a new frame.
Bring on the ridicule. I'm a novist tupperware melter.
Nice job, Bawanna. Have you looked at pictures of stippling by Robar and others? This style that you and evnash use looks different than those professional jobs. I wonder if they use a different tool or just a different method of working the polymer.
I took the Qwik-Grip off of my CM9 and put two carefully sized strips of hockey stick tape over the cheese graters. Looks like it belongs there. Matches color wise perfectly with the polymer. With it pressed down on the graters, you can still see and feel them, but it tames them. I would like to have a little more traction on the sides without making the grip wider. I'm thinking about using carefully trimmed Traction grips on the sides and trimmed to reveal the logo, just covering the areas that are already textured.
