man ... the grip tape on the slide does look bad ass .... how do you get the cuts so straight? Did you apply it, then cut?
that is just cool looking. How about when cleaning, does solvents tends to loosen it up or anything. Course the main difference is that you did a super job and mine would like sh-t. Now the grand poobaha could do it with ease, but I think I will just look at the photos and dream.
the grip bobbing is different. A first that I have seen on a kahr. Ported barrel is nice but I prefer it on the slide , aka : Magna port
u know since Ihave been on this forum, I have seen some super talented people post photos of their kahrs that just are awesome and inventive to.. Humm, who says all the smart people are in the house and senate!!!!!!!!
the bobing of the grip sure won't void any warranty unless it splits or cracks right in that area. Can't blame bobbed grips for bad slide or broken trigger guard. If you think u can do the job, do it. Life is to short to worry about "what ifs".
I think that area of the bobbed grip is hollow and just is bigger when you cut it but it also makes a nice better access to get the mag out if it ever got stuck for any reason. Many places make a cut out there just for that purpose. It could easily be filled with some acraglas and even made black to match.
I suppose even closed up the mag access would still be there.
I got my PM45 in one hand and a hack saw in the other, I might be going into mad scientist copy cat mode. Maybe I better try the tape deal first and ponder this for a bit or better yet put it on hold and go work on XrustyX's MK handles. Got checkering on both sides need about 3 more pass's an we're there.

These aren't mine, but they are a couple of my favorites. I don't remember where I found them so hopefully if the owners are on Kahrtalk they don't mind me sharing.

Ok I'll play....
Darn, I do love a jeweled hood and barrel. That looks beautious.
I looked at Bud's today for a new MK since I found out the MK I use for grips is just a dinosaur. Apparently theres the GA serial like I have and the GC which is everything else which is why none of my grips fit.
I'm ashamed to say I nearly fell out of the chair with sticker shock. I must not have looked for a while. Like 650 to over 700.
May have to find a used beater since it's mostly a grip fitting model anyhow.
A little Coco Bolo under that jeweled barrel and dietrichs britches would be sticking out in front for sure.
This is my traveling partner...

I had my hood jeweled by cylinder and slide when had my PM9 in for some cusotm work. and it last about 500 rounds at best and then it was just gone. What was even left on it looked like sh-t due to not all being there. I never had the barrel itslef done for it will wear off really fast in certain areas also. Nice for show but just won't last. The barrel makes contact to many places and the jeweling is gone real fast. I think I pissed away aobut $50 with cylinder and slide on that little project to..
there is just to much slide to hood contact in the kahr. That top part of the hood makes some contact witht he underside of the slide and then with my polishing cloth wiping the barrel down etc, it just came off, damnlike a darn decals. I don't blame C & S. just kahrs won't hold ajeweled job good at all.
I love pictures of my peice, I am going to pick up a pm9 very soon.

Why only sometimes with the sharp objects? I find myself feeling nekkid, and worse without mine. Then again, I've always had an affinity with sharp objects (yes mine are that and more).
On a side note, I'm seeing a bunch of slide stop melts around here. Maybe Kahr should pay attention on this one too huh?
"Technically" in Ohio, even w/ a concealed handgun license, carrying a knife concealed is still illegal. While most departments in this area are great, my local police department has a reputation of harassing people (small suburb town, next to no crime). It's just not worth the risk of losing my CHL rights for carrying a knife and having to explain that it's a 'tool' and not a weapon.
I had premature slide lock problems a/ my P380 and filed down the inside of the slide stop lever. To be sure I wasn't hitting the slide stop w/ my thumb, I also rounded it off. While I was at it, I did the same to my PM9 to help assure reliable operation.
I think many do it for comfort reasons (I did mine for that), then figure out later that it helps keep the thumbs off, which in turn makes the gun run more reliably. If your laws are like that, then how would one carry a pocket knife, and if that is considered a concealed weapon, then what about letting the world see it? How would one carry a multi-tool, or a Buck 110 type knife, that would be concealed too, right? Some pol must have head his head buried deep to come up with that mess.

Those are some nice pistols sir. Five Kahrs by my count. You must be in Pig Heaven.
Is that a brass catcher beside you Indigo? If so, that's great. My poor wife has to scurry around on her hands and knees to pic up the brass. She so good at it I've conisdered renting her out to other shooters. I figure ten cents a case sounds about right.
