Back when my old dept carried Glock 21's, we sent them all to Robar (now sadly gone) and had the grips textured and the finger grooves removed. I never had an issue with the finger grooves myself. I still have my 21 that was my armory gun, an officers turn in. I don't recollect that I've ever shot it, probably should do that I reckon. I tried my own treatment on a couple officers personal Glocks and used truck bed liner. Found one that was kind of rubbery. They actually liked my texture better than Robars, although Robars was quite nice. I think I still have a small can of that stuff, I should see if it's still any good. It was just a small sample can the company sent me.
I too didn't care for my 36 near as much as the 30. I liked the single stack and the slimness but just didn't shoot it as well. Never could figure that out.

I finally got my MCarbo springs yesterday and put them in to compare to the Wilson Springs. I also managed to put in the hammer shims and even the trigger shims. Can't tell a noticeable difference but it is smooth. The MCarbo dropped the DA to about 9#, maybe 1/2% less than the Wilson but not really liking my trigger gauge, doesn't pull straight in line so hard to get accurate. The SA was about the same, around 3+#'s. I got extra shims and a new unopened set of Wilson springs so I'll send those to Bird in case he ever finishes his SP101.

That's a handsome weapon! Are those bone grips inlaid into rubber?

Elk Antler. Think I made them out of one of my handle failures. They feel pretty good. I'm pondering trying to make a whole grip, but think it will be tough. The weight of the gun would make a little bit larger grip kind of a nice thing. Lots of makers out there but 50 to 100 bucks a set, I tell myself I can make that.......but not sure I can.

Thanks a bunch Colonel! I am sorry to hear that the #’s reduction was not so great, but glad to hear you call it smooth. That’s one nice looking SP you’ve got there. The grips really do make it. Kind of a “Mountain Men” looking revolver.

It feels much lighter trigger wise both DA and SA. I'm completely happy really.

I knew it would make the trigger much nicer. Some polishing would make it even smoother. You have to be careful with those pawls. Things can go flying................stock revolver triggers are not really good these days. Chigs makes some nice inserts.

I found out about the flying parts although none got away thank goodness. I had that thing apart several times, was so proud of myself. But this last time somehow, I must have pulled the trigger and the pawl spring popped out, had to go back and watch a video with the full take down. Got it back together and nothing worked. After several attempts I just pulled the trigger and then put the hammer in and it worked fine, kind of relieved I don't mind telling ya. I wasn't gonna bother with the trigger and hammer shims but figured since it showed in the video it was no big deal, so I did. Easier than I expected.

So, which weight combo did you end up installing??????????

I'll have to go look again, got confused between the two different sets. I'm pretty sure I went with MCarbo but there wasn't much difference in the hammer spring pull.
