I finally got to shoot my new to me Beretta APX A1 compact. Got it back from the fixit place the end of May, but I've been rebuilding my shooting backstop after the winter carnage. I had some oak trees cut down last year, so I've been stacking 16" dia. foot and a half logs. This old body can only stack so many in a day, and with the heat, the sweat was going down faster than a fat kid on a teeter totter...............It came back spotless and lubed, and looked good with no machining marks of any kind. I shot 70 Federal 124 gr. FMJ's, and 10 Win. Silvertip 147 gr. The first mag was way low. Once I raised the front sight above the rear blackout sight, I started to get good groups. It will take a while to get used to the trigger. It's about 5 1/2 lbs. with a pretty clean break for what it is. A bit shorter reset than other striker fired firearms I've shot. It felt good in hand and functioned the way it should. Always locked back. I used a 6" splatter target and shot from 7, 10, and 15 yds. I was happy with the results. The only thing I would fool with is the front sight. It needs to be larger. I'll have to see what my options are. Purchased on GB, make an offer. They accepted my second offer, and I won it for less than we paid for the wife's LCPII. A few more shooting sessions and into the rotation. Got the FDE model. So far, so good.
