    Default +P+ in CM9

Picked up a box of Speer Gold Dot 115gr. +P+ hollow points. Will they hurt a CM9? Anyone with any experience in this?

According to the reading material supplied with the pistol they are rated to +P. I'm sure the +P+ would be okay for that box quantity but it will hurt the pistol if shot all the time.

    standard-pressure 9mm=37,400psia
    9mm+p= 38,500psia
    9mm+P+=40,000 ???
9mm NATO=42,000-43,000psia (pounds per square inch, absolute)
    9mm"proof loads"=49,800

thank you Scarwoody. I thought along the same lines but was not sure. Thinking of throwing a mag of them down range and if they do better in accuracy than the 124gr. Federal HST's I'm carrying, then I'll carry the +P+.

As light and small as that gun is, I'm not sure I'd really want to shoot +P+ in it. I run some Buffalo Bore +P+, but that's in my full size Ruger SR9.

I've shot a box or so of Federal 9BPLE, 115gr. +P+ through my CW9 with no ill effects. Honestly, I didn't notice any more recoil than any +P loads I've fired.

Why do you need to do it? If you read the online tests of modern 9mm ammo none of these +P+ rounds are top performers. They needlessly wear your pistol out faster.

There is no SAAMI standard for +P+. Kahr says not to use +P+ in your Kahr pistol. If your gun does fail because of using +P+ kiss your warranty good-by.

Thats not true. Kahr's website says Kahr pistols ARE +P rated.

Kahr Arms does not endorse any particular brand of ammunition. However, not every brand of ammunition produces the same results. Please check the markings on the barrel hood of your firearm to determine the proper caliber. Kahr suggests a visit to a pistol range to test fire different brands of ammunition in the proper caliber. Kahr do not recommend steel case, reloads or un-jacketed ammunition. The Kahr pistol is rated to +P.

In the real world, there's almost no reason to run +p ammo as the short barrel doesn't really give it enough time to generate much more velocity.

    Standard 9mm is 35,000, 9mm NATO is 36,500.
