With my L5 .50AE 400gn reloads a maximum case fill of H110 and an OAL of 1,595 only gets me 1040fps. Hovering around 42,000psi, is there a better powder to get the velocity higher?
Or should I be happy with what I have?

What brand of bullet are you using? Don't think I've ever saw any 400 grain jacketed 50 caliber bullets!

Go with 325 gr bullets using H110 at 32.6 grains gives you 1437 fps.
Just when you think you have it figured out the rules change.
