Not sure, but I don't think so Bird. At least not in the sense of him building planned obsolescence, or at least planning on generational improvements. He had something like 6 patents on the K9 when it came out. And I think one of them was essentially a "revolver" trigger in a semi auto handgun. He was definitely after a specific characteristic and he's stayed with that throughout. Be interesting to see how the new Kahr feels when it comes out. My bet is that he stays with the trigger, or instead comes up with a "new" and/or patented way to stage the striker in a SAO manner.

Desert Eagle did that well. Came out with a canon size gun in 357. Everybody wanted one. Then they came out with the 44 magnum, everybody wanted one. Then they came out with a conversion kit to turn the 357 into a 44. The list goes on. Brilliant.

I was at a Sportsmans show in a much earlier life when the Desert Eagle first came out. At their booth I ran into a heck of a nice guy who took the time to completely Bird, I mean disassemble the gun. He really knew his stuff and it was quite interesting and fun to watch. I still didn't buy one and I wasn't rich then either but still fun.

Sure has been a lot of buzz, at least on here, aboit what comes next from him/Kahr. Of course, like when discussing 1911's, some won't have it any way but the original way. 😂 Not sure I'd ever buy the new one, unless it's a great deal, but that's just a matter of $. I would like to try one out though for sure.

If you collect those ya pretty much do gotta be rich! Funny thing is, out off all of the "gun guys" I've had the pleasure of knowing, none had one, or never mentioned it. I had no idea until you just told me that they even came in other calibers than the 50. If that dude could completely Bird dissasemble it like that then he sounds like one really cool cat! 😁😁😁

    I've always wanted one.
Almost bought a used 44 Mag, but passed.
Ordered a 357 Mag on sale, but they really didn't have them and canceled.
Guess it's just the movie mystique.
Not really practical or particularly reliable from what I've read.
Underwood 357 Sig is my Magnum Force semi-auto round.
And I have a variety of guns that run that caliber

Agreed! You certainly see them in movies a lot. I’m wondering if most are like I was until today, thinking it was just a 50 cal gun, making it a modern Dirty Harry gun?

The only 357 Sig I have ever had is that Sig229 project I posted up about. I never got to shoot it before tearing it down, even though it came with 2 boxes of ammo. From what I heard, it’s somewhat like a 40 S&W or a 10mm in recoil and velocity? Once I finish it I will certainly be opening one of those boxes!

I found the grip on the Desert Eagle almost too big for even two hands. I don't have tiny hands but it was more than a handful.

Only thing I know about 357 Sig is it looks like they'd feed like chickens thru an egg. Err maybe eggs thru a chicken? You get the idea.

I recently watched a 'B' grade movie. All the bad guys had Desert Eagles or 1911's with compensators. And they carried them in the small of the back, without holsters. Amazing....

I think they are fine guns myself. Again too big for me, but if I was liquid enough I'd probably buy one anyway. Kind of like the Automag, like to have one of those too.
