Was reading that having a manual shift vehicle actually reduces the chance of theft.
Many car thieves these days can't drive a stick - LOL!

So..when I was in the US Navy. Certain guys were always working to get out of work. Hiding, long head calls etc... These individuals were known as "Skates.
Often time, your buds would jokingly accuse you of "skating".
Well... Looks like my companion, Charley Poodle, is a born skate. Here he is, in his natural habitat:

Ah... the good old days when you got cereal to eat for breakfast... with the box to amuse you and possible toys and puzzles inside. ******* Jacks, too! My favorite, I guess, was the little plastic submarine with a metal lid on its bottom that you used to fill with baking powder and then drop it into the water where it would sink to the bottom until a bubble large enough to float the sub back to the surface where it would roll over and release the bubble, then back to the bottom again... boring after a while, but a kid can marvel at something so simple.
It was cooler back then and we got by with window fans, if lucky, but still sweaty nights in Mississippi.

Did anyone ever order the X-Ray glasses out of the back of a comic? I always wanted to...for obvious reasons.

Once per weekend, Mom took all four of us kids down to Gemco where we each chose a box of cereal.

My oldest brother - Mr. responsible, delayed-gratification, future super geek - always chose 'sensible' cereals with no prize, but rather box tops that he'd collect and mail in for nicer items.
The rest of us took whatever cereal had the most sugar and best toy.

To this day, I have a white scar across my left pointer finger from hacking Quisp spaceship parts out of the plastic mold frame with my mom's kitchen knife.
Instead of taking me to the doctor, she just wrapped it up tightly and splinted it with a popsicle stick. Mercurochrome was probably involved.

After the bleeding stopped, I used scissors to liberate the remaining parts and completed the spaceship. It was a pull-along (they included the string), and the alien bobbed up and down.

    My personal favorite -

I'd pull out a large salad bowl and pour an entire box in the bowl.
Add milk and that was breakfast!
My dad said he would fill a cart with groceries.
And me and my two brothers would eat it all in a few days.
    We were literally like locus
After the good stuff was gone, I'd eat whatever was left.
An entire load of bread or box of crackers, whatever was left ...
