Yup,Yup, I'm almost certain to retire sometime next year.
Truth be told I'm stocking up on guns and ammo now while I still have a six-figure income and paid health insurance.
Once I cross that line (retire) I truly am planning on trying to get by with the guns I've got.
Although I've stacked ammo fairly deep.
I've been shooting a lot lately and in retirement I'd like that to continue.
A few cases of ammo sound like a bunch, but we both know it isn't
May need to get into reloading.

Exactly, I need to stock up while I have some disposable income. When yo run the numbers, 30 years of regular shooting is a LOT of ammo.

Maybe Medicare should cover ammo? Good idea.

I've always loved the grips on them.

The CZ Shadow SA trigger, is close to a tuned 1911 trigger, extremely sweet.
My full size is about 3.5# in SA.
Since I shoot a lot of nice 1911's, it works well for me. But...when I let friends try it, they often double tap with the light, short, trigger pull.

Yah, my Dan Wesson V-Bob is about 4.25# and is about as light as I can go for a carry gun.
My CZ 75 Compact, with an action job and CGW parts, now measures 4.0# SA / 11.0 DA#.
IMHO it's SA is 1911 like.
And I am getting occasional double taps with the light, short reset, trigger.
I did take note on your description of the full-size Shadow 2 trigger you have @ ~3.5# SA.
With that in mind, I've chosen to go in a different direction with my S2C.
I'm having an action job with the following kit installed -
Action Enhancement Kit for CZ Shadow 2 (apextactical.com)
It's actually designed to increase the SA while reducing the DA
Delivers a clean, consistent single-action style trigger break while providing a smooth stack-free double action.
Approximately 6 lb. DA with 4 lb. SA using Carry Mainspring.
With some trigger time, that should be about perfect for me

On Saturday I scratched an itch. Sportsman Guide had a Keltec SUB 2000 gen 3 in 9mm on sale. I know, I know a Keltec. Took it to the range on Sunday and put just under 100 rounds through it with no failures. Was a bit surprised at first with recoil. Zeroed the CT red dot for home protection.
