The cheapest Tisas have the tin can sights. BTDT, not interested. I had a Citadel Officer size that shot well, and I stupidly sold it. Heck, that price, I’d probably just blow that much in a couple weeks on stupid stuff like groceries or gasoline.

If I were to shoot an average 22lr and then a 22WMR I would say the difference is noticeable (WMR louder). But, not if the lr was a high velocity and the WMR was of the low end. Maybe slightly, but really not much. That being said, my WMR experience has only been from a snubby, while the LR’s have been rifles and semi auto’s. Obviously the cylinder to forcing cone gap allows for a much louder “report” though, so not really a fair comparison.
I often justify things that way
I hear you. I know some of the "Black Friday", etc Tisas deals were pretty good. My only Tisas was a pawn shop find. So can't speak too much from experience. Again, I think that's a deal I'd take advantage of. Hope to hear of you getting it and being happy with it. 😀
I don't know about the Tanker's sights but so far as I know it's among the least expensive Tisas offered, at around $400. I paid about $550 for my Tisas Carry, and Stingray, and they both came with white 3-dot sights. I've swapped out sights on more guns than I can remember, and it's not a hard task at all so long as you have a good pusher to work with. And for as important as they are to good shooting they're not as expensive as so many other mods are on a gun.
I've noticed the prices on Tisas guns are starting to climb. Even as others seem to be coming down a bit. I think Tisas' sales are telling the company that they can charge more. Of those that I've had I've had very good impressions of their build quality. I've had the same number of DW's and while they truly are a semi-custom gun they are not really 4 times as good as the Tisas which is about the difference in price between the two brands. I would trust my life to either brand once they've proven themselves at the range.
edit: Just looked back at my records and learned that I've had one more Tisas than DW. All the rest of what I said though is accurate.
I knew you would be able to offer a better input than anybody on the Tisas vs "other guys" than at least anyone else I know.
About the Tisas prices... I called that early on. A common business practice. Some co's in their business plan factor in intentional losses early on as a way to gain a base of positive supporters/reviewers/repeat buyers. I think they have played their hand rather well.
Tisas are good quality, so they had to control demand or they’d lose control of the supply. The Stingray I had, the rear sight seemed welded in place. They told me it didn’t need adjusting.![]()

Dan Wesson actually did the same thing. The first CBob I encountered at a gun show new was like 750 bucks. Instant love and I wanted it bad but didn't have 750, story of my life. Much later I got one used online from North Carolina and paid around 1100.
I think that's one reason the came out with the VBob. They realized they had great quality and a lot of fans and decided they could get a lot more money for them. Overnight the prices went up half again or more.
I don't tell much difference between a Cbob and a VBob. Course now both are up there in price. Still great guns.
I love my Tisas too and I'd buy another without question.
Course now I'm semi focused on Auto Ordnance. Probably be forever before I get one but a fella has to have a goal right?
