Label me strange but I almost always rooted for the indians.
Must be an underdog thing.
Just saw 12 last night at a theatre, it was good.

In Memory of Paul "Dietrich" Stines.
Dad: Say something nice to your cousin Shirley
Dietrich: For a fat girl you sure don't sweat much.
Cue sound of Head slap.
RIP Muggsy & TMan
"If you are a warrior legally authorized to carry a weapon and you step outside without that weapon, then you become a sheep, pretending that JOCKO will not come today."
Saw Hostiles Friday. It was okay. I was expecting a bit more.
My top 3 are
1. Lonesome Dove
2. Centennial
3. Tombstone
Oh Oh Oh !
I don't think these have been mentioned before
Broken Trail with Robert Duvall, Tom Hadin. "We're all travelers in this world"
And the original Unforgiven with Burt Lancster, Jean Simmons, and Audey Murphy.
Here's a thought. How about your old western heroes like Hopalong Cassidy, Lash Larue, Three Mesquiteers, Hoot Gibson etc.
I may be the only one old enough to know who they were.
Thought I'd bump this thread as I just finished watching The Cheyenne Social Club, with Jimmy Stewart, Henry Fonda, and Shirley Jones, for the umpteenth time. One of the few movies I have saved on the DVR and won't delete. Most that fall in that category are either old westerns or classic comedies. The rest are the wife's movies.
Lonesome Dove
Silverado
Outlaw Josie Wales
The Searchers
Blazing Saddles
Rest in peace Muggsy

I guess Josey has to be my favorite……It’s going to hurt when Clint crosses the river…..

Best western which is my favorite was LONELY ARE THE BRAVE with Kirk Douglas. Of all the great movies made by him, he has stated over and over that this was his favorite movie he made of all time. His son also said it was his favorite as well. (Warning, you will fall in love with Whiskey his horse. Great acting with Walther Matthough -Great bar fight scene with one arm man. Great suspense.
