I've read of folks hiding in the trunk to get into the drive-in for free.
In the early 70s in SoCal out in the high desert we had a three-screen drive-in.
If I remember correctly, it was $3 per car, not person
No need to hide anybody.

My dad’s ‘61 Impala had a big trunk and my buddies were not football players. One couple fit just fine..
Plus they liked the “close quarters” foreplay with their chicks for the 10 minutes they were squeezed in together.

I remember my parents having all 4 of us kids in the trunk going to movies. At our drive in it was PER PERSON. I still remember going to see BEN HUR that way.
It was in the trunk of a 53 Pontiac.
