Ok I get it now. Might not hurt anything as the polymer is basically cosmetic. I've seen pieces break off but never as much as that. I'd still contact Kahr to confirm. Kahr often times takes care of stuff that is an issue regardless of the warranty. Perhaps not always but we've heard of it happening many times. Never hurts to ask.

Good, call Kahr and they will make it right for you…….The only problem with a frame change is having to go through a FFL dealer for the serial number change because to the ATF it’s a new gun…..The gun will probably shoot fine as is because that part of the frame is only a guide for the slide and does take some abuse but doesn’t affect the function much but I would still contact Kahr and see what they say, if you like the pistol then the hassle of the FFL thing might be worth it for a brand new frame…..Good luck and let us know how it goes…..

I sent an email with a couple of pictures of the issue. I hope to hear from them either way. I presently own 6 Kahr pistols, 2 CW45, a CW9, a CM9, a CW380 and the PM40. I have had really good performance with the Kahr pistols once properly broken in. I rarely shoot the PM40 as it is a handful in such a small package, I was surprised to see the damage when I took it apart to clean it...time will tell.

I got a reply a guy in the Customer Service Dept. called Mark; he said he contacted Kahr Gunsmithing and they say it is not an issue as the slide truly rides on the lower steel inserts. Gppd tp know and I appreciate the urgency with which they got an answer.

Lousy pics. And for sure they will not just agree and send out a new Pistol or Grip. Just guessing, but that could be ammo related. Or at least they would have reason to believe it was. That would be my first guess.

    Whiskeyhorse ,
You have absolutely no idea of what you are talking about; Did you send the email to Kahr with new pictures? I did not ask for a new serialized unit, I asked if what I had experienced was good or bad and if it was bad I would pay to replace the bad frame. That stated, I own 6 Kahr pistols and this is the first issue I've had with one, IHMO your guesses are just that, yours No FLAME intended

Wow! My bad, so sorry to have upset you. Hope things work out for you. Must be my bad eyesight. And because of the bad eyesight, I would have seen the part that was damaged which IS cosmetic and rides on the rails. as this issue has been brought up many times over the years (and on this forum)
Have a nice day. Life is good.

I have had cracks in grips like the LCP's over the years. Maybe one day in the future Kahr will become innovative and actually have modular made firearm where you can simply change out the grip. And makes it so easy to work on, clean, change out parts. Maybe in the future.
