Default New TM1 owner in the NC foothills

    Hi,
Long time 1911 and M1A shooter, have always wanted a Tommy gun and liked the TM1 a lot. So, I got one.

Shot it today for the first time today and it did great, loved how it handled. 150 rounds of ball, 150 of hand load 200 gr LSWC and 25 Federal HST 230 gr hollow points. Only 3 failed to chamber, one of each and after that ran fine. I really liked how it ejected all in about a 5ft circle 8 to 10 feet away at 3 to 4 O'clock.

Love the M1A's, a little heavy but great guns. Welcome to the forum.

Your Thompson is light? Might weighs a ton. I love it, always wanted one but she's heavy.

Mine also. We had two M14's at the department, both full auto. I refinished the stocks and we used them for parade rifles. Also fun days at the range. I made a stand and often kept one at my desk.
Heard after I retired they had to give them back to the military. I should have brought one home. Even named them. Thelma and Louis.

Nah, Lol. The M1A and the Thompson have a little weight to them, but I love them both. My TM1 seems to like LSWCs 200 gr. For me it's just a great gun and a blast shooting steel.
